Assigning a Proxy Location

What is a proxy?

A proxy is an access point between you and the website you are browsing. When you use a proxy, your browser first connects to the proxy, and the proxy forwards your traffic to the website you’re visiting. Essentially, it sets the location that we access your users' LinkedIn from.

Why do I need to assign a proxy?

It's important to assign a proxy location because LinkedIn may block certain activities if they see multiple users signing in from different locations. For example, if one of your users lives in Virginia, we will set their proxy location for SocialLead to East US: Virginia, so that when we go to send invites, messages, etc. it's coming from the same location that the profile user is accessing their LinkedIn from.

Which proxy should I select?

The list of proxies can be found below. We recommend selecting the region that is the closest to where the team member is based. The location does not need to be exact, it just needs to be in the general region (i.e. nearest state).

Here is a quick step-by-step guide:

  1. Navigate to the Organization Hub > Select Team Members

  1. Click on Edit

3. Under theVPN Port, select the proxy location from the drop-down menu
